How to Watch IPTV on Roku
Roku doesn't allow app sideloading, but you can still watch IPTV: through a player from the Roku store, or by mirroring your phone or computer.
Yes, you can watch IPTV on Roku. Add an IPTV player such as Hot Player from the Roku store, open it to see your device's MAC address, then add your IPTVCA server URL, username and password on the player's website using that MAC address. If no player is available on your Roku, screen mirroring from an Android phone or Windows PC also works.
Roku only runs apps from its own store, and the list of IPTV players there changes from time to time. If a player disappears, your IPTVCA login still works in any other player or device.
Best IPTV players for Roku
| Player | Where to get it | Good to know |
|---|---|---|
| Hot Player | Roku store | Playlist added on its website with the MAC address; licence sold by the developer after its free period. |
| IBO Player Pro | Roku store | Same MAC-address method, if Hot Player isn't listed on your Roku. |
| Screen mirroring | Built into Roku | From Android phones and Windows PCs; AirPlay from iPhone on supported Roku models. |
These players are made by other companies. We don't sell them or their licences; your IPTVCA plan is the login you enter in them.
Method 1: Install an IPTV player from the Roku store
- Open the Roku store
Press Home, then open Streaming Store (called Channel Store on older Roku software).

- Search for the player
Type Hot Player or Hot IPTV. Select it and choose Add.

- Open it and note the MAC address
The app shows your Roku's MAC address. Take a photo of it.

Link your IPTVCA playlist
- Open the player's website
On your phone or computer, go to the player's official website and choose Upload list (or Add playlist).

- Enter the MAC address
Type the MAC address from your Roku, then continue.

- Choose Xtream Codes
Select Xtream Codes as the source. Enter any playlist name, then the server URL (Host), username and password from your IPTVCA email. Save.

- Refresh on your Roku
Back on the TV, choose Refresh or restart the app. Your channels load.

Method 2: Screen mirroring
No player on your Roku? Play IPTV on another device and show it on the TV.
- Turn on screen mirroring
On the Roku: Settings, System, Screen mirroring, and set it to Prompt or Always allow.

- Start the stream on your phone or PC
Open your IPTV player on an Android phone or Windows computer and log in with your IPTVCA details.

- Mirror to the Roku
Android: Cast or Smart View from quick settings. Windows: press Windows + K and choose your Roku. On supported Roku models, iPhones can use AirPlay.

Mirroring keeps your phone busy and can lower the picture quality. Many Roku owners add a Fire TV Stick to a spare HDMI port just for IPTV.
Tips for the best picture
- Around 25 Mbps per screen is comfortable for HD and 50 Mbps for 4K. A wired connection, or Wi-Fi on the 5 GHz band close to the router, prevents most buffering.
- Roku Ultra has a network port: use it for 4K channels.
- Restart the Roku from Settings, System, Power if the player gets slow.
Roku IPTV troubleshooting
- I can't find Hot Player
Availability depends on your Roku model and country setting. Try IBO Player Pro or use screen mirroring.
- The app asks for activation
The player's free period is over. Its licence is sold by the app developer, not included in your IPTVCA plan.
- No channels after adding the playlist
Check the MAC address on the website, re-type the password (case-sensitive), then restart the app.
- Mirroring drops or stutters
Put the phone and the Roku on the same 5 GHz Wi-Fi and close other apps on the phone.

Can I install IPTV on Roku?
Yes, through an IPTV player from the Roku store such as Hot Player, or by screen mirroring. You can't sideload apps like TiviMate on a Roku.
Is there a free IPTV player on Roku?
Players on Roku usually give a free period, then ask for a licence paid to their developer. Screen mirroring is free and built into Roku.
Why isn't TiviMate or IPTV Smarters on Roku?
